Likeit – Music Favorites
A menu bar star for macOS
Privacy policy
Likeit counts anonymous usage. It has no accounts and no ads, and it never sends the names of your songs
- It talks to the Music app on your Mac to read the current track and set its favorite flag. Track, artist and playlist names stay on your Mac
- Likeit sends a few anonymous counts: that the app started, that it is running, and that a track was liked or unliked. Each count carries the app version, the macOS version and a random install ID that is not tied to you
- The counts go through our own server, which does not pass on your IP address. They are used only to see how many people use Likeit and whether liking works
- You can turn it off any time: hold ⌥ and click the star, then uncheck Share Usage Stats. Nothing is sent after that
- macOS asks your permission before Likeit can control Music. You can revoke it any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation
- This website counts visits and clicks on the Mac App Store badge with PostHog analytics
- The version downloaded from this website checks for updates once a day and sends its app version and your macOS version
